Tara Marie Cooper, Director at the Johnson Public Library, shares an update about the renovation.

The library is the recipient of a generous gift from the Oritani Charitable Foundation. The new space will officially open as the Oritani Teen and Community Center.

Construction is progressing as scheduled, and we anticipate the spaces opening to the public by the end of April.

Getting moved back into our refreshed spaces will be a lot of work and will require an additional short closure of the building to get our furniture, shelving, collection and work spaces ready for use.

Please keep an eye on our website and social media accounts for details about upcoming changes in service, and an announcement about when our spaces will be available to you.

We will also announce a formal ribbon-cutting and opening celebration of the Oritani Teen and Community Center shortly.

We appreciate your patience while we build the modern library that the Hackensack community needs and deserves.

A huge thank you to the Oritani Charitable Foundation for helping to change the library for years to come.

We can’t wait to show you around the new spaces soon!
