Book Clubs at JPL

The YA Books for Adult Readers book club is a monthly book club for adults where we discuss books that were written for teenagers.  Here is a list of books we have read in the past. Copies of next month’s book are available to check out at our circulation desk, and often are available digitally in eBook or eAudiobook format on either Libby or Hoopla.

We typically meet on Zoom, although due to scheduling issues, there are occasional hybrid meetings where you can participate in person or online.  You do not have to attend every meeting to participate and new members are always welcome!

​Just the Facts: the Nonfiction Only Book Club is a monthly book club for adults where we read and discuss only nonfiction books. The books are selected each year by member recommendations and votes. Since nonfiction books can be quite lengthy, we ask that participants read a minimum of 200 pages anywhere in the book in order to join the discussion. We usually meet in person at the library. Books are available at the library’s main circulation desk for our upcoming meeting.

Conozca diferentes culturas hispanas y latinas a través de la literatura. Leemos libros escritos por autores hispanos, hispanoamericanos y latinos. También es un espacio para practicar su español o para volver a hablarlo o para reencontrarse con sus raíces y compartir sus experiencias con otras personas del grupo. 

Las copias de los libros están disponibles en el escritorio de circulación. Las sugerencias para los próximos libros son siempre bienvenidas. Nos reunimos en persona una vez al mes en la biblioteca.

The Fit to Be Lit book club is a monthly book club for adults, where we discuss contemporary (usually written within the last ten years) literary fiction.

We meet in person at the library, most often in our gallery space.
