Part-Time Circulation Assistant
The Johnson Public Library is seeking a part-time library assistant (preferably bilingual, with Spanish fluency) in the Circulation Department.
This is an 18-19 hour per week position, with the possibility of additional hours. The typical schedule would be:
Monday: 5/6 - 9
Tuesday: 5/6 -9
Friday: 1-5
Saturdays: 9 - 5
Some flexibility in scheduling is required.
Duties will include:

Shelving library materials.

Organizing, shifting and reading shelves.

Providing assistance to patrons at the front desk, including registering new library card users.

Answering phones and directing calls when necessary.

Other duties as needed/assigned.
Qualifications:

Bilingual-Spanish preferred.

Alpha/numeric sorting abilities.

Physical ability to bend or sit down to tend to bottom shelves, and lift or shift at least 20 pounds of books.

Operation of standard computer software including Google Docs.

Respectful customer service skills.

Patience and enthusiasm are a must!

Salary Range: $16-18 per hour depending on qualifications and Spanish fluency. The library provides generous sick, vacation and personal time, plus many paid holidays.
